Nasi Lemak: Making a Favourite Meal
Inside the lesson
Children took inspiration from the familiar shapes of nasi lemak: a round plate, green banana leaf, rice and side dishes. They used sponge painting to create a vivid green background for their three-dimensional artwork.
They then made rice and side dishes from craft materials, deciding where to place each element. The photos follow the process from the first painted layer to each child's finished interpretation of this Malaysian favourite.
